Delaware Hotel Group was founded by Mike
Khatiwala in 2001. Mike began his
dealings in the hospitality industry at
an early age working in the family
business which purchased their first
hotel in 1982 the Journeys’ End Motel in
West Atlantic City, NJ, the Khatiwala
Family experienced much success with
this property and went on to Joint
Venture acquiring many other smaller
motel properties. |

In 1997 with the retirement of Mike’s
father, Ramesh Khatiwala, the family
liquidated all of their hospitality
assets. In 2001 with Mike’s growing
interest in returning to the hospitality
business the Khatiwala family once again
entered the hotel business purchasing
the Howard Johnson Express Inn, giving
Delaware Hotel Group their first
property to manage. |

In 2004 the company added its second
property in York, Pennsylvania – the
Best Western Westgate Inn. In quick
succession the number of properties
either owned and/or operated by Delaware
Hotel Group has grown from it’s first
property to 8 properties located in New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, with
many new projects on the horizon.

In 2007
Mike proved with hard work and
dedication dreams do come true when he
acquired the Hampton Inn Cherry
Hill/Voorhees his eighth property. Mike
is a proud resident of Voorhees Township
where he graduated from Voorhees Eastern
Regional High School and went on to
receive an accounting degree from Drexel
University. It was a dream of Mike’s to
be in the hotel business and some day
acquire this Hampton Inn located in his
hometown.
